The Finished Product!

Well I must say that the dress turned out AWESOME!!!! I think that mom did an incredible job. Not only do I think she was the cutest Snow White on Halloween, I think she will be the cutest Snow White at Disney World in May. It was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears but the dress could not have turned out better. Thanks mom for all you do for the girls! Your the best ninnie in the world!

Dog Gone Digging!

Today when Morgan gave Lady her bone, I guess Lady had other plans for it. She buried it in our yard. She walked around all day with mud dried to her face. Crazy girl!

The Big Project

A few months ago I found this dress on line that I absolutely loved and wanted to get for Morgan to wear for Halloween and to wear to Disney when we go in May. One problem, it was $345.00! Stephen would have killed me if I had spend that much money on a dress just to play in. So I took the idea and ran with it. I found a pattern for a Snow White dress and handed it over to my mom. With her wonderful talent for sewing she made me a dress. After searching the Internet for Snow White appliques, I finally found a lady online that had the Snow White patterns I was looking for. So $40.00 later we had the patterns of Snow White and all seven dwarfs! So this weekend I had the joy of finishing up the dress for Halloween next weekend. Mom let me bring her machine to my house so I could work on it at my leisure. Well 14 hour into it, I was done! All seven dwarfs were done plus and apple to boot. I have no feeling in my thumb and index finger and my back and neck are killing me, but the dress is almost done. Just a few finishing touches by mom and it will be done! It turned out just as I wanted it to. Mom did an amazing job. But one thing is for certain, I know why the lady was charging $345.00 for it. It is ALOT of work and detail. I hit a few bumps along the way but for the most part it went rather smooth. I am just so glad that I didn't run into any trouble with the machine. (Thank you Jesus! I owe you one for that!) After I finished my part on the dress I packed up mom's machine and brought it back to her house. Then I had the honor of cleaning my house that Morgan turned into a war zone over the past two days. It took me two house just to pick up the toys she destroyed in her room and in the living room. Not to mention trying to get hot pink Play Doe out of my carpet. Daddy is not going to be very happy about that one when he gets home. But hey, it was a small price to pay to get the dress done. Now I have a day off to spend doing whatever Morgan and me want. Chuckie Cheese, the park, the library, shopping???? Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Just glad there is no SEWING involved!

My work station I set up in my living room.

The dress before I began. I added Snow White on last week so mom could piece the dress together for me before I started the dwarfs.

Here is Happy, Sleepy, and Bashful.

Bashful, Sneezy, and Doc.

Grumpy and the poison apple.

The is a picture of Morgan's room on Saturday afternoon. Didn't get a picture of how she finished it off today. Let's just says she emptied the entire toy box on the floor. Good times!

This is how my living room looked on Saturday afternoon. Now triple this and this is what it looked like today after I finished sewing on the dress. You couldn't even walk in the room ANYWHERE. It was just a small price to pay to keep my kid entertained so I could get the dress done. Proud to say that after only 4 hours tonight of house cleaning my house is back to normal. Yeah me!

Rockin it on the court!

Tonight Stephen, Morgan, Papaw, and me went to see Jessica play some volleyball. She is really good. I can't believe how much her game has improved since the last game we went to in the beginning of September. Her serve is awesome. She really is one of, if not the best player on the team. We are so proud of her. Way to go Jess!

Halloween at Shelbie's

While grocery shopping today, Morgan found a little pumpkin at Walmart and said she wanted to take to Shelbie. So today we went to the cemetery and decorated it for Shelbie for Halloween. I think it turned out cute. The lil pumpkin was the perfect touch. Thanks Morgan, your big sissy is so very proud I'm sure!

It's Pumpkin Time!!

As Morgan says, "It's pumpkin time mommy!" Today I took a couple of pictures of Morgan sitting in front of the fall decorations on our porch. She told me pumpkin time is her favorite time of the year. I guess she gets that from her ninnie.

Morgan with our scarecrow.

Pumpkin anyone?

Buck number 1!

Stephen went to his deer lease outside of Childress, TX opening weekend with his dad and his buddy David. Stephen took his first buck of the year opening day. I'm not much into hunting but not a bad looking buck I must say.
David shot a buck as well.

Lauren's Baptism

My niece, Lauren, never ceases to amaze me. She is one of the kindest kids I know, she reads on a third grade level, she is in the gifted and talented program at school, and she is so awesome at cheer leading she is captain of her team. I mean, I can't imagine what the future holds for this brilliant seven year old. But I think the thing that I am most proud about is her commitment to God. This summer at vacation bible school, Lauren accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. So tonight at church she was baptised. As a sat there and watched her confirm her commitment to God, it brought a tear to my eye. This child is truly amazing. I can't wait to see what she brings to the world. For me, my life is truly blessed because she is in it. Lauren, I love you sweet heart and I could not be more proud of you!

State Fair 2009

I don't think you can truly call yourself a true Texan in you don't enjoy the state fair. I mean who doesn't love rides, good fried food, and the smell of farm animals and there droppings! So today we all went to the Sate Fair of Texas for a day of family, food and fun. I must say the fod was great but I did have to pass on the deep fried butter. Here are some pictures from our fun day.

While mom and John test drove the new Chevy Camero's, Morgan and Lauren took a test drive themselves. Must be mother like daughter because Lauren is a crazy drive just like her mother!

Morgan feeding the cows.

Mom couldn't wait to check out the ostrich. She has this wild fantasy of riding one of these. Crazy!

Ticket to get into the fair $15. Food for the animals at the petting zoo $5. Seeing the look on your mom's face when the ostrich takes the whole cup of feed from her hand and swallows feed cup and all, PRICELESS!!! This truly was one of the highlight of my day. I don't think I have laughed so hard in a really long time.

The funniest thing about the ostrich swallowing the cup of feed was the look on his face after he did it. I just knew that dumb thing was going to fall over dead. You could actually see the cup going down his neck as he was swallowing it. Crazy bird!

Morgan and Lauren feeding the baby camel.

And I thought breast feeding one baby was hard work. Can you imagine 7 at one time!

This was a mommy kangaroo. If you look close you can see the baby in her pouch all curled up.

I know you shouldn't turn on your family, but I wonder how much that reward is for? You know times are tough!

This was one of the proudest moments I have experienced as a mother so far. Today at the fair, Morgan participated in the Pee-wee stick horse races. She's #1286.

Mommies little cowgirl!

Morgan making her big entrance in the arena.

Let the fun begin.

Morgan competed against 2 other 3 year old girls. She had to run out in the middle of the arena and push over the steer then run back as fast as she could.

All that running she does around our house must have paid off because she won first place! She got a trophy and everything!

My sweet lil girl!

To see the look on her face when she won that trophy was priceless. I have never been more proud of her. It is a memory I will treasure always and it couldn't of happened on a better day!

The proud winner!
