Not A Good Sign

It is never a good sign when you come home from seeing the doctor and when you leave the pharmacy you have 5 bags of prescriptions. Morgan has this cough that just will not go away and now she is wheezing really bad so we went to see the doctor today and she has an ear infection. So we started her up on some antibiotics for the ear infection, some steroids for the wheezing and we are back on the breathing treatments. Good times! So here's to breathing treatments, antibiotics, and steroids. All I have to say is thank God for insurance!

I'm A Superstar!

It has been a one of those days. Morgan is not feeling well and neither am I. So to say the least we butted heads today all day. By the end of the day we were both tired and out of our minds. So tonight and I was sitting in my favorite big chair and checking some stuff out on the computer when Morgan came running into the living room screaming, "I'm a superstar, I'm a superstar!" and then proceeded to run around the living room in big circles. I could not help but laugh my head off. I have this box of old clothes that I have been working on pricing for a big consignment sale and she managed to find a pair of pink bloomers that go to this pink dress and this pink top that is about three sizes to small. All this was over her pj's. The funniest part was that she had on her night time pull up and it really filled out the bloomers. She would run around spanking her bottom. It was truly a site to see. This little girl never seizes to amaze me. So thanks Morgan for the great entertainment this evening and for the wonderful memory. I will never look and at that pink flamingo shirt the same again!

My Moment

Isn't it funny how in life there are little moments that really seems to put your life in prospective. How when you least expect it, something happens that just makes you really stand back and say WOW! Well tonight I had one of those moments. It was a moment so simple and sincere. Tonight when I was tucking Morgan into bed, I gave her a hug and kiss and she said "Mom, you are the best mom in the world. Even when you get mad you are still my favorite mom in the whole great big world." I told her I thought she was the best daughter in the world and she then told me the usual, "love you to the moon and back and biggest in whole wide world." I said the same back, kissed her forehead, said good night and closed her door behind me. I then went and had a seat in my big favorite chair grabbed the remote and then it hit me. Isn't it weird how God gives, then takes, then gives again. How He took something so dear to me, then blessed me again with something that I never thought I would ever really want again, and now I can't even imagine my life without this gift. Although I have forgave Him for what he took from me, I shall never forget. It is because of what He took from me that I have what I have now. It is the reason why I love Him so much and why I love her. Then I thought to myself this is it. This is what it is all about. It's not having a big fancy house or a new shiny car, or even fine fancy clothes. This is it! A wonderful HEALTHY family. It is having a daughter that thinks I am the best mom. And not just any mom, but the best in the WORLD! So that was my moment of clarity. It didn't take some great tragedy, like how when something terrible happens to you or someone you know and you think to yourself, "Boy am I lucky, I really should count my blessing, I'm really going to live life different". Well none of that happened. It was just a beautiful 3 1/2 year old girl telling me she loved me. That was my MOMENT. It didn't cost me a dime and no big tragedy happened. So thank you God, for loaning me this beautiful child of yours. I promise I will do my best for her and for you. Life can't get any better than this. And all that because a 3 year old love me.....

Round and Round We Go!

Today the gang all went shopping to help mom with some last minute shopping for her cruise. Boy, what a day! The girls were both in one of their moods and it really liked to have pushed me and Lori to the edge. But thanks to a cheeseburger and one heck of a margarita, I was ready to take on the these two crazy kids. After lunch the girls enjoyed riding the carousel. I have to say I had fun riding too! Poor mom didn't get much shopping done and once we got home Morgan slept for over 4 1/2 hours! All I can say was what a day!

Happy New Year!

This year we decided to ring in the new year up at the ranch so we invited some friends up. We had a weekend of fun, fireworks and fever! I actually got off work early on Thursday so I headed to the ranch as soon as I got off work. Stephen, Morgan and Stephen's friend, Shannon, made the drive earlier in the day. Stephen and Shannon had picked up some fireworks, but due to the rain, we were unable to shoot off the fireworks to ring in the new year. So the boys decided to go hang out in the barn and varmint hunt while me and Morgan climbed into a warm bed to watch some cartoons. I was so tired after our long eventful week with Stephen and the whole tree accident. Me and Morgan dosed off around 9:30PM or at least I woke up and turned the TV off then. So much for ringing in the new year. That's OK because I got some much needed sleep to start the new year. The next day our friends David, Veronica and their little girl Madison arrived. Morgan was so excited to meet Madison. Someone new to play with. The girls hit it off right away. So after eating some good home cooked stew Shannon cooked all day, we finally got to shoot off our fireworks. On Saturday, when the group hunted, I took the girls for a ride on the four wheeler and we fed the buffalo. Once back at the ranch the girls crashed and I finally had some quite time to just veg out and watch a little TV only to find that when Morgan woke up she had bright red cheeks and a temp of 101! Great. So after a quick run for some Tylenol, we were good to go, so I thought. The next morning I woke up to being covered in throw up by Morgan and she had a fever of 102. Good times. So we packed our bags and headed back to Rockwall so I could get her to the doctors office only to find out that the streph throat that we had just treated for ten days was back and even worse. Morgan is now back on antibiotics for another ten days. So that is how my 2010 has started out. Not quite what I was hoping for but at least we had a few days of fun at the ranch before heading back. I am so excited about this year. So much to do. We have our cruise in March and the ever much anticipated trip to Disney in May. So here is to a wonderful New 2010 Year. May this year bring you great things and much peace.

As much as she tried, Morgan just couldn't keep up with Madison. She finally gave it up while watching SpongeBob. Madison was soon to follow.
