One Big Wish

Today was a crazy day. One of those days when you have so much to do and nothing seems to go as planned. Well that was my busy crazy day today. I decided to run all my errands then come home and take down the Christmas tree and all my Christmas decorations. In the mist of packing up the boxes in the attic, Morgan came running to me with a dandelion in her hand. She says "mommy look a dandelion" I was shocked that she even new what a dandelion was. She then said "mommy make a wish." Again I was amazed she knew to make a wish. I told her that it was her flower and she should make the wish. She said that all she wanted was for everyone to be her friend. I looked at this child and thought how wonderful this little person is. I think that if the world had a lot more people like Morgan in it and lots more dandelion's, it would be a much better place to live. God, thank you for giving me this day and for giving me this little girl. Morgan love you.

Wheels on the bike go round and round!

Since we do not have a concrete drive way, today we packed up Morgan's new bike and headed over to mom's house to let Morgan try it out. She did great! Just like a pro. Stephen and I were both so impressed with how well she did. She had a little hard time with the brake concept at first but after a few runs she had it down. I just can't believe how much she has grown. I'm so looking forward to what this next year will bring and all the new things that she will learn.

Singing Sensation!

Tonight Stephen and me were in the living room watching TV when Morgan crawled onto the couch and sat next to Stephen. With her she brought her microphone, harmonica, and a new light up toy she got in one of her many stockings. She did a little singing, about what I am not quite sure, and played a little music on the old harmonica for us. She does not like to be recorded so I had to hide the camera in my lap so excuse my leg in the shot. It was so funny. She loves to entertain. Whether it is signing or playing us some music she loves it all. So sit back, push play and enjoy. And for anyone interested, we are now taking private bookings! Enjoy.

He Came, He Came!

Santa came and Morgan got the bike she has talked about for the past two months. She was so excited. The look on her face was priceless. I am so glad that I got it on film with my flip camcorder. It was precious. She got lots of stuff. Somethings I had forgotten that I had bought. That is when you know that you have bought way to much. And to think that I just got rid of so much junk when I redid her room a few weeks ago. Now we have more junk than ever. Oh well, you are only young once.

I have posted this image twice. Sorry, Can't figure out how to delete it. Oops!

Morgan opening up her presents. She is so funny. All she kept saying was "Don't look!" She doesn't want you to see it before she does. She wants it to be a surprise for you as well. So funny. But I must say, it did get old after a while. Either way it was fun watching her get excited about each one she opened.

Twas The Night Before Christmas!

Well I don't know if it was just pure luck or if it was that email chain letter that I responded to, but after ten years at Baylor I finally made the drawing to be off on a holiday. I can't believe that I have Christmas Eve and Christmas day off this year. So today was such a great day. Got up and spent time with the family, had a quick nap, then got up and got ready for a fun night at mom's. When we went to pick up Jessica, a blizzard was blowing into Dallas. Yes, that's right, we had snow on Christmas Eve. It was a lil white Christmas after all. Tonight at mom's we had a wonderful time. We played this really fun game left, right, center. Stephen and me both won the pot of $27 each. It was so fun. It was a wonderful night and I can't wait to see what Santa brings tonight!

Before opening up presents, Lauren read "The Night Before Christmas" to us. It was awesome. She is a excellent reader. I sure hope that some of her good smarts rub off onto Morgan.

Morgan's first gift she opened was a copy of her new favorite movie, "The Wizard of Oz". She was so excited.

Lori and Lauren have a good time.

At ninne camp this summer Lauren and Morgan made stocking rubber boats to leave out at ninnie's house for Rudolf to fill up for them. I think that Morgan did an excellent job on hers.

Here is a picture of both the girls stocking rubber boots. Morgan's is on the right. Too cute!

Once we got home Stephen made the crazy drive across the ice covered bridges to take home Jessica and I got Morgan to bed in preparation for Santa. It didn't take long for her to fall fast asleep. Of course she had her new doll that Jessica gave her wearing the pj's and robe mom made for it. She couldn't take her hands off it. Sweet dreams my angel.

Today we went out to the cemetery to check out all the new ornaments that have been left on Shelbie's grave blanket. Morgan added a new one she got. There are some really cute one's out there. Thanks guys! Shelbie is so loved.

Christmas at Valerie's

After a few days of sitting at home sick, Morgan and me mustard up enough strength to go to Morgan's Christmas party at her sitters. She was so glad to see all her friends and was really excited about opening up her gifts. Morgan got a real fur kitten friend from Dean and Valerie gave her a really cute outfit. We had a great time but I was glad to get back home. Those kids wear me out!

The Big Surprise!

After finishing Morgan's room today I went to pick her up at my mom's house. She had no idea that I had made over her room or should I say Santa made over her room. So when she walked into the house she saw Stephen sitting on the couch. He told her he thought someone had left her a surprise in her room. When she opened the door to her room she ran to the new baby bed that I had bought her. She was so excited about it. REALLY! What about all the hard work I had done. What about the color of the walls, all the new furniture. Then she turned and saw her big girl bed. She was so excited. The look on her face was priceless. It made all the hard work worth it. So I think the room is a hit. She has spent all day playing in it. She loves her new bean bag and sitting in her new reading corner and reading her books. She really loves the new TV and being able to watch all her favorite Nick Jr. shows on it. So I am so pleased with the room and how it turned out. Now I can finally rest and watch what I want on MY TV!!!!!

Morgan realizing that she has a new big girl bed. She was so surprised when she finally realized it was there. I think the picture says it all.

Blood, Sweat & Tears!

Well after 48 hours of banged up hands, sweating my butt off from putting furniture together and dragging it from room to room, Morgan's room is completed! I think that it turned out perfect. I did have a break down moment. Friday evening I had to run up to Lowe's to pick up a new paint roller and on the way back I just lost it. I started thinking about Shelbie and how this would no longer be both the girls room. I started thinking about getting Shelbie's room ready before she was born and how I searched for the perfect yellow paint. I thought her room was so cute. When Shelbie passed away we never took her room down. It remained the same. Then when we found out we were expecting another girl we thought we would let Morgan use Shelbie's stuff so they could share something together. So while painting over that perfect yellow paint, part of my heart felt like I was erasing a part of Shelbie. I started thinking that the girls would no longer share anything in this room again. Then it hit me, I am not erasing Shelbie. She couldn't care less what color I paint these walls because her room in Heaven is of colors we can't even imagine. And I know that in my heart that she would love nothing more than her lil sis to have a purple room. Because you know, purple is one of Morgan's favorite colors! So I smiled and a peaceful feeling filled my heart and I knew that Shelbie would love the room and would always look over her sister in that room. So with every paint stroke I thought of Shelbie and I did it for Morgan. Shelbie painted the room for Morgan through me. So as we close this chapter in our lives, we now look at this room no longer as the nursery to the girls, but now the room of our big little girl! The room came together just as I hoped it would and maybe even a little better. I must give a big thanks to my mom who so graciously let Morgan spend the night with her last night and to my sister who came over at the last moment and helped me put the finishing touches on to the room. So as this chapter closes and new one begins, I can't wait to see what this next one brings! All this because one little girl "loves me biggest in the whole world".

You can't see it really well but there is a pink chandelier hanging in the corner, which is Morgan's new reading corner. And yes, I made the curtains myself. I was surprised they turned out as good and they did.
